| Bio: | My profile gets out of date so quickly! Lets see if I can make it more general, or at least up to date.
I'm Emma. I'm in my twenties (see what I did there! Now I don't have to change it at my next birthday!), and I've recently moved to London. I grew up in Cornwall, which was not as idyllic as it sounds, followed by four years at university in Bangor, North Wales. I'm glad to live in the big city now! Well, I live out in zone 4 in North London with ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) mattp, which is almost like living in the city, but quieter, with more time spent on the tube.
I have a degree in Psychology, but I'm not doing anything with it, other than saying "hey, I have a degree", and occasionally waffling on about psychology-related stuff if it comes up in conversation. Top way to spend 4 years that, really setting myself up for the future! Anyway. I should have seen this coming when I was about 10, but I'm going into IT. I've done a course with these people, which has helped me get on the right track, get my foot in the door, and other such clichés. I'm now a Microsoft Certified Professional, anyway, and should be a CCNA when I get around to revising and taking the exam. Just IT were really helpful in both training me on the academic stuff and helping me get the confidence to succeed in interviews and stuff, as well as the recruiters getting me seen by employers (I swear they're not paying me... but if you do want to do the course, and want a referral....). I'm starting a placement which should hopefully lead to a job as a Technical Analyst with these people in the new year, and looking forward to it!
As for the way I use LJ... all my entries are friends only; sorry about that. At one point I was very paranoid and private, and wanted desperately to control who could read my ponderings. Then I got used to it, and I'm not sure I could use my journal the same way if it were public. I write long entries about my feelings and what I'm doing day to day, mostly, but apparently some people still like to read that sort of thing, so maybe I'm not as boring as I make myself sound. I'm a person who struggles with depression and social anxiety/agoraphobia from time to time, which probably has something to do with my entries not being public. I'm not actively looking for new LJ friends, but I welcome meeting nifty like-minded people.
